Facilities

The Stock Exchange Rifle club currently has access to two grounds, one in Central London, the other at Bisley.

Central London

Our London Bridge range.

The Club has its own indoor air-conditioned 6 lane 25m range beneath London Bridge. The range is rated for .22 target rifle and gallery rifle up to .45. There is also a dedicated air pistol/air rifle range, a club-room, storage lockers and an armoury.

The range is shared with Marylebone Rifle and Pistol Club (who shared the previous St Alphage House range with us for many years). With dedicated prone, gallery and air ranges and a club room, we have facilities second to none in the London area. More space, more range time, more storage.

A number of members are qualified as instructors and/or coaches and are happy to help with training and development. Club shooters compete at all levels of competition and anyone who wishes to compete is encouraged to do so. We boast several internationals among our membership.

Storage facilities for members are made available at a cost to those shooters who are most active in our league competitions.

Club rifles and all necessary equipment are available at the range without charge for members to use in all categories of competition. Many members prefer to acquire their own rifles in due course, and advice on this will be given after you have joined

The London Bridge Range is open on Tuesday and Thursday evenings from 5.00pm to 9.00pm. Shooting starts at 17:30.

Bisley

The Century range at Bisley in full swing.

Bisley is the Club’s home ground. We meet at Bisley once per month, in addition to the regular weekly meets at the City range. Rifles used are of all calibres and types, from small-bore to fullbore 7.62mm Target Rifles. These are shot, depending on calibre, at indoor and outdoor ranges, at distances from 25yds to 1200yds, in all weathers. There is an extensive range of shotgun target-shooting facilities, and several pistol ranges, some with fixed targets, and some with moving targets.

The fullbore rifle season proper opens in March, culminating with the Club Championships in September. Almost every weekend day has a match, and Club shooters feature prominently in national and international competition. Current members have won both the Grand Aggregate and the Queen’s Prize, the two most sought-after shooting honours in the world.

Club 7.62mm and .22 target rifles are available for members to use, and there are limited secure storage facilities available for members’ own rifles.

There are fullbore shooting introduction days from time to time to encourage members who want to try long distance shooting, but anyone who wants to start before then is welcome to do so.

The Club is an affiliate of the London and Middlesex Rifle Association and uses its extensive club house at Bisley Camp. This includes a full bar, two restaurants, bedrooms for overnight stays and limited secure storage.

Bisley Camp is the home of the National Rifle Association, the governing sports body of all but small-bore shooting in the UK, and the National Small-bore Rifle Association, the governing body for small bore rifle and air pistol and air rifle shooting.
